Invitation for consultancy & training services  

Tigray National State Water Resource Bureau now invites for expression of interest from qualified eligible tanning centers and consultants for the Procurement of under listed training courses through the budget from Community led accelerated water supply, sanitation and hygiene (CO WASH)  project with procurement reference No QCBS/TIG/COWASH/03/2011Community led accelerated water supply, sanitation and hygiene (COWASH) project is working on water supply, sanitation and hygiene in Ethiopia including the Tigray Region by targeting to achieve the following key results.

Increased access to climate resilient community and institutional water supply coverage  

a) Increased access to household and institutional sanitation and hygiene coverage & usage. 

b) Increased functionality and sustainability of built WASH facilities, and 

c) Women's empowerment and leadership achieved.         

d) Inclusiveness of disabilities             

Despite good achievements, the project has faced several critical challenges. Some were addressed and its effects were reduced substantially. Some are outstanding. These are limited project management skill, and limited awareness about water and environment and its relation to climate issues and public health by new officials and project staffs. It is therefore essential to enhance the awareness and motivation of regional WASH steering Committee, Regional WASH technical team on one of the thematic areas that are necessary to the project, which is Advanced Project Management and implementation.     

Content of the Training Course 

Content of the training is identified and developed in such a way that it addresses challenges affecting performance of the project.

Criteria for Selecting the Training Institution or Specialized University 

Educational institutions/ universities specialized in advanced project management, management/ leadership development, Managing Water and Sanitation, and climate resilient sustainable development are needed. Focus will be given also to those institutions which have experience in managing similar training workshops/conferences, education, and research in the specified areas above. Expression of intrest must be deliverd on or before December 24/2011 E.C at 3:30 local time
