African Disability Forum (ADF)Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: AccountantJob DescriptionThe ADF Accountant reports to the ADF Admin/Finance Manager and maintains ledgers and other books of accounts, prepares financial reports as required and ensures that all payments, taxes and other financial obligations are met.• Ensure that disbursements are made according to the rules and regulations specified in the ADF Finance Manual.• Ensure that payment vouchers are correct and authentic.• Enter all financial transactions into an appropriate computer software program.• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements needed to show the financial position and operational results of the ADF office and projects.• Prepare the monthly bank reconciliation and submit to the Admin/Finance Manager.• Prepare staff payroll and make sure that it is paid on time and that all required government taxes and social security contributions are deducted and paid.• Check that disbursements are not beyond the funds available and authority of ADF.• Assist in the development of working procedures, schedules, formats, etc. for efficient financial operations.• See that financial reports are prepared on time.• Close year end books of accounts.• Assist in the planning of the expenditures of ADF.• Control expenditures/disbursements based on analysis of accounting reports and financial position of ADF.• Conduct physical cash count and reconcile with book records regularly.• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Admin/Finance Manager.How to Apply• All applicants should send their CV, references, with motivation letter to the ADF office by 25 March 2019 via email jobs@africandisabilityforum.org Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a written exam and face to face interview.
