The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Driver Key Responsibilities:• Undertake driving assignments given by the Regional PATSPO Coordinator in the region;• Operate, maintain and clean assigned vehicle with care and reports any damage immediately to the Regional PATSPO Coordinator;• Record and maintain the log-book for the assigned vehicle, responsible for all tools, equipment and spare parts of assigned vehicle;• Responsible for checking the PATSPO vehicle on a continuous basis;• Liaises with the transport unit at ILRI, Addis Ababa to ensure that routine vehicle service and maintenance is undertaken timely;• Purchase small items or procure other services from outside ILRI/ICRAF for the project if required;• Assists PATSPO staff and staff of the regional tree seed centre in the region when doing field work;- Duty Station: Mekelle- Job Grade: HG 8- Monthly Base Salary: Birr 7,500 (Negotiable depending on salary history of the candidate)Terms of appointment: These are three Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) positions, initial appointment is fixed term for one year with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding. The ILRI remuneration package for nationally recruited staff in Ethiopia includes very competitive salary and benefits such as life and medical insurance, offshore pension plan, etc. The ILRI campus is set in a secure, attractive campus on the outskirts of Addis Ababa. Educational Requirements
High School Graduate
Desired Skills
Education:
• High School Complete/Preparatory Certificate level 1

Skills:
• Valid driving license
• Knowledge of auto mechanics is desirable
• Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal relationships
• Good working knowledge of written and spoken English is essential
• Field trip experience in different parts of Ethiopia

Experience:
• Two years of practical driving experience preferably in an international organization
• Good knowledge of Ethiopian roads and locations of Government offices and NGOs
