Purpose of the post

Under the general supervision of Chief Field Office implement the Logistics activities of the UNICEF Gambella Zonal Office including systems for Material Management, and Inventory control-(warehousing, stock movement control, distribution and monitoring of supplies in Gambella and for further delivery on to project sites in Gambella Region

Educational Requirements

Education requirements: University Degree in Business Administration, management or related field.

Desired Skills

Major Duties and Responsibilities of this post include:

  • Establish / Maintain an effective management structure to control all UNICEF supplies and materials, fuel, vehicle spares and administrative supplies including a sound system of control for movement of supplies in and out of the warehouse
  • Ensure inventory systems are updated and maintained on a regular basis and reports produced for user consumption.
  • Ensure close coordination with programme units (in the respective Zonal Office) for rapid movement and dispatch of supplies to beneficiaries by providing regular stock movement reports.
  • In liaison with programme units ( in the respective Zonal Office ), establish a regular supply and user monitoring system and ensure follow up
  • Plan, negotiate and arrange for cost effective transport contracts for effective and timely delivery of supplies.
  • Plan, negotiate and arrange training, for logistics team as needed.
  • Provide logistic technical support to counterparts in the Region.
  • Verify and certify all payments with regard to logistics activities for action.
Experience Requirements

Five (5) years of professional work experience in supply and logistics management.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and in the local working language of the duty station required.

Nationality:    Candidates should be NATIONALS of Ethiopia.
