St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical CollegeVacancy AnnouncementJob Title: Media and Partnership Specialist - Required Number: 1- Duty Station: At the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth, Addis Ababa - Reported To: The Minister Duties and Responsibilities:A media and partnership specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive image for the ministry and handle the ministry’s communication with the public, including customers, partners, and stakeholders and keep the public informed about the activities of the ministry and the government at large in the areas of women, children and youth.• Planning, coordination and implementation of the ministry’s communication activities in close cooperation with the public relations directorate• Planning or directing the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stockholder views of the ministry’s agenda and accomplishments.• Responding to requests for information release or press conference from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information in order to communicate the ministry’s activities and achievements based on the enquiries from the public, the press, and stakeholders and partner organizations.• Supporting the ministry’s social media activities (esp. website, face book and twitter) and helping senior management to improve their social media activities• Supporting content creation and editing for various formats (press releases, specialized articles, blog posts, social media snippets,…)• Knowledge sharing with the public relation department team of the ministry• Drafting speeches and arrange interviews for the higher officials of the ministry• Writing and producing press releases, presentations and other media communications to promote the ministry.• Studying the ministry’s objectives, policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote its services and achievements.• Preparing and editing publications, including newsletters or reports, for internal and external audiences.• Updating and maintaining Web content.• planning publicity strategies and campaigns• Support needs of the ministry including but not limited to: scheduling, meeting management, gift acknowledgment, pipeline reporting, and partner/prospect research• Evaluate the promotion programs and campaigns to determine whether they are compatible with the ministry’s public relations efforts• Evaluate public opinion of clients and stakeholders through social media• organizing and attending promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits• Speaking publicly at interviews, press conferences and presentations• Analyzing media coverage of the ministry’s activities- Salary: Competitive in line with areas of expertise and years of experience- The assignment period for selected candidates will be one year, renewable depending on the availability of fund, needs of the ministry and performance of selected officer.

Job Requirement
• Master degree in Journalism, PSIR, communications or similar field
• 8+ years relevant experience in PR and communication
• Experience handling a press conference.
• Ability to pitch to media.
• An ability to work on big strategy plans as well as day-to-day tasks.
• Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
• Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives.
• Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills.
• High social media affinity and experience working with social media management platforms
• Proven track record of publications
• Responds well under pressure with strict time limit.
• Quick and enthusiastic learner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic/communication skill in other languages is an asset
