St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical CollegeVacancy AnnouncementJob Title: Senior Policy and Advocacy Advisor - Children and Youth- Required Number: 1- Duty Station: At the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth, Addis Ababa - Reported To: The Minister/State Minister Duties and Responsibilities:• To design a new and ambitious policy agenda and program of research.• To develop robust and compelling policy analysis and public policy asks on children and youth issues,• To provide policy insight and analysis to inform activities across fundraising, communications and advocacy• Develop a well-studied community mobilization for approach that can galvanize sustained youth and community volunteerism on child protection and youth development• Provide technical leadership in building the capacity of MOWCA and Regional bureaus on community mobilization and youth volunteerism approaches.• Develop different life skill training manuals and guidelines for youth and children.- Salary: Competitive in line with areas of expertise and years of experience- The assignment period for selected candidates will be one year, renewable depending on the availability of fund, needs of the ministry and performance of selected officer.

Job Requirement
• MSc in Social Work, Sociology, Economics, Law or other related fields
• 7 years for MSc/MA and 10 years for B.A/ B.Sc. holders with relevant experience in child protection and youth development program
• Technical Training qualifications required: Child and Youth development project management.
• Other team management exposure and computer knowledge (word, Excel, etc).
• Experience working with civil society organizations, local communities, local government and in developing effective training methods.
• Excellent analytical report writing and presentation skills
• Strong team work and partnership management skill
• Facilitation of workshops, surveys and studies
• Ability to work within tight deadlines
• Strong IT skills
• In-depth knowledge on the issues of children and youth
• Experience of developing detailed evidence based policy positions and presenting them in a clear, well-argued and compelling manner.
• Experience in providing policy expertise as part of a wider advocacy public campaign on child rights promotion.
• have a solid experience in community mobilization and viable youth life skills and entrepreneurship endeavors to help achieve sustained community and youth volunteerism
• Experience in designing training packages, initiating public-private partnerships, supporting and coaching entrepreneurial initiatives, and designing and implementing capacity building activities targeted at young people
