World Health Organization (WHO) Vacancy Announcement Position: Blood Safety Consultant - Place of Work: Addis Ababa - Closing Date: Dec. 13, 2018, 1:59:00 AMResponsibilitiesWith the support and guidance of the MO blood safety, the incumbent will perform the following activities;• Conduct an assessment of the level of quality in 16 selected blood banks• Write a report of the findings and gaps found• Develop tailor-made roadmaps to address the gaps for each blood bank assessed.• To support the implementation of the 5 year strategic plan and to produce regular reports.

Qualifications required
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in laboratory sciences with focus on quality as the main stream.

Experience
• At least 5 years’ experience of uninterrupted service in the area of blood transfusion.
• Experience in quality management in blood transfusion services for the same period.
• Excellent knowledge of the blood transfusion value chain and latest development trends in the field.

Competences
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good writing skills, fluency in English and experience in resolving complex blood transfusion service problems and challenges.
• Ability to work in diverse cultural backgrounds
