UNICEF - United Nations Children's FundVacancy AnnouncementPosition: Sub National Emergency Nutrition Coordinator Duty Station: Jigjiga, EthiopiaClosing Date: 18 September 2018Expected Deliverables• Daily/Weekly/Biweekly/Monthly reports on Command post meetings and HN Task Force meetings -highlighting progress against plans for Government, UN agencies and NGO partners- bringing accountability to the Nutrition partners• Representation of the cluster in coordination forums and ensuring Nutrition issues are kept top on the agenda.• Monthly synopsis and analysis of nutrition programme performance tracking• Field trip reports with action points and follow up issues pertaining to strengthening Zonal Nutrition Coordination, and woredas level technical response• Provide input for ENCU and UNICEF Sitreps as requested (bi-weekly)• Reports from technical review meetings/workshops convened with Government and partners to ensure quality programming• Monthly progress report submitted to UNICEF FO and Addis (UNICEF Programme Section & ENCU)• Final document and defined activities for capacity strengthening of the Regional EWD to respond to and coordinate emergency nutrition response. Reporting• UNICEF Chief of Field Office in Somali region with technical support and guidance by National ENCU Team leader.• Frequent updates with UNICEF FO, RENCU and Incident Command Post – across all sectors and pillars

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
• An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in medicine, clinical nursing, public health and/or nutrition
*A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in nutrition program and management of severe acute malnutrition in particular. Experience in cluster coordination an advantage
• Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
