Good Governance Africa (GGA)Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Programme OfficerJob Description:• Under the general direction of the Executive Director of GGA-EA, the Programme Officer is responsible for the overall research, publication and dissemination and other related activities.Specific Duties:• Lead and participate in the development of GGA-EA project initiatives;• Lead the development of project concept notes and proposals;• Lead the research and publication activities of the regional office;• Develop and implement project monitoring, evaluation and learning systems;• Prepare periodic performance reports on research and publication activities;• Identify and keep data base on resource persons and organizations;• Liaison with donors, other GGA regional centres and partner organizations;• Lead the coordination of the regional sub-office activities;• Participate in fund raising activities;• Represent GGA-EA in various national, regional and continental forums;• Actively participate in the designing and implementation of GGA-EA advocacy and lobbying activities.
Educational Requirements
Master's
Desired Skills
Job Requirement:
• A PhD in Political Science, Law, Development studies, Human Geography, Public Administration or other related fields and a minimum of 6 years experience or; A Master’s Degree in the above fields and minimum of 10 years experience.

Required Skills
• A critical understanding of sociopolitical dynamics of Africa, particularly the Eastern Africa region.
• Strong critical thinking skills, demonstrated research capability.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Amharic and English
