Millennium DPI PartnersVacancy AnnouncementPosition: Regional Coordinator General Description of Position:• The Regional Coordinator (hereafter the “Employee”) will be in charge of coordinating Feteh’s support activities to Regional Attorney General’s Offices and Regional Supreme Courts in liaison with Feteh’s regional offices.Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:The Employee will undertake work based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for Millennium DPI in support of the Feteh Activity pursuant to MDPI’s contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) and reporting jointly to the Chief of Party (COP) and DCOP, the Employee shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of his/her employment with Millennium DPI:• Provide support to and follow up of ongoing legal and judicial reforms and initiatives undertaken by the Attorney General’s Offices and Supreme Courts in the Regional States where Feteh is active, and in all other Regional States where it will decide to start activities;• Assist in the identification and implementation of additional priority legislative and judicial reforms to support the Regional Attorney General’s Offices and Regional Supreme Courts;• Support the Regional Attorney General’s Offices and Regional Supreme Courts in building their capacity in accordance with Feteh’s annual work plan;• Administer the compilation and publication of reform documents and reports;• Facilitate and follow up on the translation of key legal documents;• Ensure the follow up of all administrative procedures with Feteh’s main office for the implementation of the various regional activities under the work plan;• Supervise technical staff in the regions and support staff affected to the decentralized support.• Conduct regular field visits, and ensure collaboration and synergies with other areas of the Feteh Activity.• Support, monitor and coordinate with regional counterparts in organizing and conducting public consultations, workshops, training programs and other programmatic events;• Supervise and assist in the development of terms of reference, memoranda of understanding, manuals and other technical documents;• Support local and international consultants engaged by Feteh;• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with regional partners and stakeholders and nurture effective strategic partnerships to identify changes in priorities, new reform initiatives and strategies to effectively implement Feteh’s activities;• Collaborate with the Communications and Public Outreach Coordinator in gathering information for Feteh’s social media and in drafting Feteh’s success stories in the regions;• Read and understand clearly Feteh’s work plan and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan, and work closely with the MEL Coordinator to ensure that all regional activities are carefully measured and clearly communicated to USAID;• Be ultimately responsible for the success of Feteh in executing all regional activities in each annual work plan;• Actively participate in meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of annual work plans and decisions by the management to achieve the objectives of the Activity in the regions;• Produce written material on a monthly basis or on request of the COP/DCOP to ensure that Feteh’s quarterly and annual reports contain a clear description of all details of regional activities;• Perform other activities as requested by the COP/DCOP.

Job Requirement:
• Law degree, and preferably also an LLM degree.
• Extensive experience in the Ethiopian legal system, and at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in legal practice, rule of law/justice reform, and/or a related field including working as a judge, public prosecutor, attorney, legal academic, etc.
• Solid and thorough understanding of the socio-political context in the regions and understanding of the legal system and current reform initiatives in Ethiopia.
• Solid experience managing and coordinating staff of different backgrounds and skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with relevant Ethiopian government institutions at the federal and regional levels.
• High degree of organization, professionalism, integrity, trustworthiness and flexibility.
• Ability to use discretion when working with confidential documents and information.
• Fluency in both written and spoken Amharic and English.
• Technology-literate – PC skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet.
