Oxfam Great Britain - Ethiopia Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Compliance Manager Job Description• The Compliance Manager plays a key role in strengthening management systems and reducing financial risks in both operational and partner-led programmes. The role has a main goal to support the country programme to comply to internal and relevant external policies, risk mitigation and procedures. It is key to ensure that organization resources are managed in an efficient stewardship way and this role will be advising the senior management on the design and implementation of risk management and internal control procedures to ensure it. This role will interpret and follow up the application of organizational policies and procedures in varying functions within the organization. If problems arise, this role will develop solutions taking into the diversity and complexity of the problems. Anticipate and resolve challenges within corporate or divisional parameters, with moderate scope. The impact of this role is significant within the support and finance units and could also have some impact Oxfam-wide. It is a key role to contribute to and influence operational planning, ways of working and behaviors.• As Compliance Manager, you are expected to have good understanding of information systems with a sound knowledge of their development and capabilities; good knowledge of major donor requirements such as DFID, OFDA, ECHO, EU, WFP and UNICEF; the Ethiopian labour, tax and immigration laws and internationally accepted compliance principles. You need to have good experience in reviewing compliance, conducting investigations and leading successful improvement plans; experience on training to improve operations’ implementation and persistence to achieve change in a challenging environment and stressful situations; and ensuring compliance across all business functional areas including regulatory compliance.You are also expected to have proven analytical skills, problem solving and firm decision making giving good attention to detail, with strong commitment to achieve results; ability to work independently with less supervision from line manager and undertake regular travel around the country (50%) within short notice.
