Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Senior Technical Expert II - Markets Linkage and Contract Farming (ACC Support)- Term of Employment: One year with possibility of extension- Duty Station(s): Addis Ababa- Required Number: One- Salary & Benefits: Competitive- Application Deadline: November 07, 2019ESSENTIAL DUTIES:• Support and drive ATA’s contract farming and market linkage initiatives and engagements, and provide high quality strategic and implementation support for contract farming arrangements within the Agricultural Commercialization Clusters (ACCs)• Provide high caliber support for the design and roll out of contract farming arrangement and market linkage activities• Provide effective support to strengthen the institutional capacity of public institutions supporting contract farming arrangements and market linkage efforts• Engage in day-to-day stakeholder’s management in enhancing markets for ACC commodities and ensure gender and youth is mainstreamed during market linkages• Ensure standard target-setting, planning, management and reporting processes and tools are effectively applied across all levels in day-to-day activities• Ensure use of best practice analytical and problem-solving tools and approaches• Provide capacity building and training to National, Regional and local ACC teams and partners• Drive identification, design and coordination of implementation of critical policy and other interventions to promote agri-business through the Clusters and create market linkages across the Clusters• Identify systemic issues affecting the priority value chains across the clusters• Facilitate market linkages among producer groups, private sector and public sector• Provide content direction and input to other members of the team• Collect data on the performance of contract farming arrangements, identify challenges, best practice and share to the partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agribusiness, Business / Management, Operations, Agricultural Economics, Economics or other relevant fields
• At least 10 years’ experience for BA/BSc or 8 years for MA/MSc, with professional experience in planning and implementation of market linkages, agribusiness development activities, preferably including program management of smallholder farmers market linkages with large-scale agro-processing, exporters
• In-depth knowledge of agriculture and rural development, in particular; Ethiopian trade and agricultural policies and strategies and agricultural cluster and corridor implementation initiatives in Ethiopia or abroad
• Excellent stakeholder management skills including thorough knowledge and understanding of various regional level and federal level institutions; extensive experience in facilitating dialogue with relevant public and private stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with highly collaborative working style
• Experience in working within multi-cultural teams preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English and Amharic required; fluency in regional languages preferred
• Strong set of personal values including integrity, honesty and desire to be of service
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, with an emphasis on high performance, teamwork, accountability, Monitoring and Results Measurement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Professional experience in planning and implementation of market linkages, agribusiness development activities, preferably including program management of smallholder farmer’s market linkages with large-scale agro-processing, exporters.
