Purpose of the post
Under the supervision of UNICEF Nutrition Specialist based at Federal Emergency Nutrition Coordination Unit (FENCU) within the DRMFSS, the incumbent supports the Federal ENCU on coordination of emergency nutrition assessments, responses and monitoring
Major Duties and Responsibilities of this post include:
1 Support rreviewing the emergency and bi-annual survey proposals and reports as per existing emergency nutrition assessment guidelines.
2 Provide technical support to the regional ENCU’s in preparation of the bi-annual survey data analysis and reports
3 Conduct field visits as required to monitor and provide technical support to partners on the implementation of emergency nutrition activities.
4 Support in analysing the evolving nutrition situation at national and regional levels and recommend appropriate actions to be undertaken.
5 Contribute to preparation of the nutrition situation updates/bulletins at national level on monthly basis
6 Follow up with the regional ENCUs on the timely update of the nutrition situation monitoring matrix, clarify/review the information before it is shared with the DRMFSS and partners.
7 Provide technical support in conducting training and other capacity building activities on emergency nutrition assessment, response and coordination organised by the federal and/or regional ENCUs
8 Perform any other duties that you may be assigned by the supervisor.
Expected Deliverables
The incumbent will deliver the following deliverables and payment is linked to this deliverables:
- Ten final versions of reviewed and edited bi-annual survey proposals
- Ten final versions of reviewed and edited bi-annual survey reports
- Report on technical support provided to Afar and Somali DPPB RENCU for bi-annual nutrition survey data analysis and report writing
- Six monthly nutrition situation and response reports updated
- Two reports on emergency nutrition response monitoring
- Three consolidated and updated nutrition situation monitoring matrix at national level

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements: Advanced University degree in Nutrition or public health.
Work Experience: A Minimum of five years’ work experience in planning, implementing and quality assurance of emergency nutrition assessments based on SMART methodology and ENA software for SMART; in planning, implementing and monitoring emergency nutrition interventions.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and knowledge in national and regional working languages has also an advantage.
Nationality: Candidates should be NATIONALS of Ethiopia.
