Ethio-Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA)Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Crop Agronomist & Plant Nutrition Expert DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY: • Under supervision of and accountable to the Project Coordinator/Facilitator the Crop/ Agronomist and Plant Nutrition Expert will be in charge of project activities to be implemented within local communities in the kebeles of assignment. Responsible for implementation of project activities which include interactive training and learning support on crop production, responsible in managing demonstration and trial plots within the assigned kebeles, responsible for correct data collection from the demonstration and trial plots in collaboration with researchers, farmers and kebele development workers, mobilize community for implementing project activities, provide technical support, prepare and submit weekly work plan and report, monthly and quarterly reports for the activities undertaken within the kebele to the Project Coordinator/ Facilitator, keep appropriate records of community members who are supported by the project. Work in close collaboration with other staff members within the project.Specific responsibilities include:• Organize and facilitate/undertake capacity building activities/trainings in various topics such as crop production, 4R fertilizer use principles and nutrient management based on recent and available technical materials.• Facilitate participatory selection of beneficiaries in collaboration with responsible stakeholders, criteria developed by the project, as well as with Kebele level Development Workers, that directly benefit through project intervention activities,• Take part in demonstration and trail plots selection, preparation for planting, planting, management, data collection as instructed by researches and technical team as well as reporting on the data collected from the demo and trial plots,• Involve in data collection, processing and keep proper records of community members who have benefited from the project intervention and report accordingly,• Follow up and support farmers who involve in demonstration and trial plots management,• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual action plans and reports and submit to the project office,• Closely work with community groups, kebele and cooperative offices,• Involve starting from beneficiaries selection and support farmers who involve in demonstration and trial plots management,• Elaborate training and extension materials related to crop management and fertilizer uses based on 4R principles,• Any other activity that may be required by the project coordinator.- Number required: 8 (eight)- Duty Station: In Project Intervention Kebeles within Minjir Shenkora Woreda- Closing Deadline: November 04, 2019 and only short listed applicants will be contacted.- Female candidates are encouraged to apply for all the posts.How to Apply• Application can be sent to EWNRA in the following address.
