Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation AgencyVacancy AnnouncementPosition: Honey Production and Processing Technical Advisor- Term of Employment: Until June 2020- Duty Station: Addis Ababa- Required Number: One- Salary & Benefits: Competitive- Application Deadline: December 28, 2019ESSENTIAL DUTIES:• Prepare training materials and deliver training to SMEs on honey production and processing• Conduct field visits to assess the value chain of the SMEs• Review the technical designs and production flows of the SMEs and recommend methods and techniques that boost productivity and efficiency• Analyze in-bound, operations, and out-bound flows of honey and beeswax including handling and storage, packaging, loading/unloading, delivery and transportation systems and recommend areas of strategic improvements that minimize cost and improve differentiation• Assess quality control processes of the SMEs and recommend possible areas of improvements• Recommend technical/materials specifications and quality of inputs and machineries, and suggests possible procurements sources/suppliers• Provide advice on hygienic/health requirements and procedures, dress code/uniforms and disciplines of employees of the SMEs• Recommend appropriate technical and operational steps that enhance capacity utilization, and minimizes wastages of the SMEs• Recommend ways and means that strengthen the production and technical skills of employees of participating SMEs• Provide regular updates on implementation to the EAAP team to include successes and challenges to-date, next steps and action items• Develop indicators and measure outcomes in collaboration with the EAAP team and the SMEs.

Bachelor's

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture or other relevant fields
• More than 8 years for BA/BSc or 6 years for Masters with experience in either one or more of the following: supply chain management, operation management, business development/ management in Honey and Beeswax processing enterprises
• Proven, relevant experience working within the apiculture industry
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders
• Fluency in English required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent and demonstrable in-depth understanding of dynamics of the Ethiopian exporting agro-processing sector and challenges related to quality control and operations of SMEs in the Agiculture industry
• Demonstrable track record of success with program design, performance management, monitoring and evaluation;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
