Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency Vacancy AnnouncementPosition: Investment Expert- Term of Employment: One year with possibility of extension- Duty Station(s): Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), Addis Ababa- Required Number: One- Salary & Benefits: Competitive- Application Deadline: December 11, 2019 ESSENTIAL DUTIES:• Preparation of draft opinions, advice and briefs on a wide range of issues;• Research and analysis of investment laws and regulations to support increase of foreign direct investment flows to Ethiopia and particularly in existing and upcoming industrial parks;• Drafts and/or reviews memorandum of association and other contracts and agreements to be signed by the Commission in relation to industrial parks and provides advice and recommendations;• Assist in developing flexible and efficient procedures regulating the issuance, renewal, replacement and cancellation of investment licenses;• Support the development of directives that would be employed in the administration of investment laws; and including legal audit and follow up the implementation of the above;• Support in creating an effective knowledge management system in the Industrial Parks Division; ensure regular collection of relevant information, coordinate action for policy-relevant analysis and dissemination of information to relevant stakeholders;• Oversee provision of efficient service in One Stop Service centers in both public and private industrial parks by coordinating with relevant stakeholders;• Support the Commission in undertaking regulatory functions within IPs, ensure that appropriate procedures and manuals are adopted to effectively discharge EIC’s regulatory mandates within IPs;• Support the Commission’s activities in investment climate improvement and reform programs;• Work with other divisions of the EIC to facilitate the organization and flow of industrial park related information and services.• Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Law or in related fields of study.
• At least 8 years (for Bachelor’s) and 6 years (for Master’s) of combined professional work experience in consulting, practicing lawyer and/or advisory services
• Fluency in Amharic and English language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven analytical and opinion writing ability;
• Basic understanding of Ethiopia’s economic policies and investment system, with broad perspective on how the entire system operates and how public, private and informal actors operate within the system;
• Highly facilitative and collaborative leadership style;
• Excellent computer (ICT) skills, analytical and data gathering skills;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Strong set of personal values including integrity, honesty and desire to be of service.
